In January of 2008, Sensei Joe Fournier was promoted from Renshi to Kyoshi by the Kokusai Butoku Kai. During the Kokusai Butoku Kai International Karate Camp 2008 in Santa Cruz, California, Sensei Jean Chalamon Hanshi presented Sensei Fournier with his Kyoshi Certificate on behalf of the entire organization.
